Food Photography
What’s one of the top foods that is hard to stay away from because it just looks so rich and delicious?
You guessed it — sweets.
You guessed it — sweets.
As someone who has a sweet tooth and was given the task to shoot photos for a client in relation to food, I of course chose to do a brownie one. The final shots were required to have a scene utilizing food for one image while the other image needed to have an act of liquid moving. This resulted in the two final shots labeled here.
In terms of challenges, this photoshoot was no exception. I felt as though I had planned thoroughly, considering I went to Walmart the night before and bought 4 placemats that looked like white granite for my tabletop background, bought all of the ingredients to make the brownies, bought a cookie rack to place my brownies upon, bought 3 bowls, and even accent products to the food. I created my own mood board on Pinterest in order to gain inspiration and find a specific style that I wanted to portray too. However, I did struggle with some of the prep work for this photoshoot as I was up until 1:30 am the night prior making the brownies. I also was one-handed when trying to pour the drink while also holding up a reflector to provide more light to bounce into the shot. This was a little difficult, so I had set the camera to a self-timer. After this, my hands were free to finish the project.
