Design Proposal For PetSmart
The Background:
As a graphic designer at Prisma, Petsmart has been one of our clients that we have done printing for. In this project, Petsmart came to Prisma with the idea of a heart shaped loyalty card. However upon further discussion, we found that a heart may be too difficult of a shape to put into a wallet so we had to pivot.
The Solution:
Since Petsmart had a goal to engage with their end user, I came up with the idea to include a keychain option (much like how you would see in Fry’s or gyms) that matches their loyalty card. The purpose of this is to provide user accessibility and encourage users to easily have their barcode available to scan at the store. Additionally, some users may not be fond of carrying a card everywhere, so they may choose to use the keychain, while others prefer to carry a card instead of a keychain. The card would also properly fit into a wallet while hearts are still incorporated into the design. By providing both options, they have a higher likelihood of engaging with the end user. This is why each concept has a keychain option included.
In order to highlight the hearts in the “treats” logo, a magenta line has been placed to represent a die-cut on the edge of a business card sized loyalty card.
